Blue Light

We all know about the invisible dangers of UV radiation, but fewer people are aware of the potential risks of high energy light that we can see: blue light.

Blue light is everywhere! Moreover, digital screens, fluorescent and LED office lighting have drastically increased our exposure. True, blue light in daylight boosts alertness. But when we are bathing ourselves in blue light constantly, the sustained exposure will add up, preventing our bodies from settling into healthy sleep.

AND, unlike UV, human eyes do a poor job of filtering out blue light. Studies have suggested that blue light can contribute to retinal damage and macular degeneration - an irreversible loss of vision.

Solution? Firstly, take frequent breaks from your screen. Secondly, wear specialised eyewear to block out blue light. Visit us in-store for more information.
